Humans now generate 2.5 quintillion bytes of data worldwide every day. The volume will only increase as digital innovations emerge, including the volume of personal data collected, used, and stored. Regulators around the world are working to protect personal data, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has dominated the discussions for the past two years. In the US, the states have been actively seeking to protect personal data, and the federal government has recently shown interest in enacting federal laws. This webcast examines state-level initiatives as well as the impact a new federal data protection law could have on financial institutions and the vendors who serve them.
Gina McCafferty has 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. She served at Cutter from 1999 to 2011 as Principal and Managing Director of CutterResearch, and she was instrumental in growing that business. Gina returned to Cutter in 2017, and established and ran the company’s Wealth Management research division. In 2019, she was appointed to Head of Research, responsible for Asset Management and Wealth Management product development and delivery to over 200 member firms around the globe. Gina was previously at Investit Ltd., where she served for six years as head of the company’s research service. Prior to that, she held senior positions at DST International with product responsibility for their global accounting and performance measurement systems, and at SunGard as Vice President of Client Services for their securities trading products.
Jason Mayor is a leader in Cyber Security at Raymond James. In his current role, he leads multiple teams within the IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance domain. Jason’s teams of Information Security professionals, consisting of secure design consultants and third-party risk management analysts, assess internal technology risk as well as risk associated with existing and future partners. With a thorough understanding of business requirements and intimate knowledge of applicable regulations, policies, and standards, Jason’s teams advise business and IT leadership of risk mitigation strategies, ultimately ensuring that Raymond James maintains a secure and compliant foundation.
Previously, Jason served for five years as an active duty Cyber Operations Officer in the United States Air Force, leading men and women in network operations, network defense, and information assurance.
Jason received his bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering Management from the United States Air Force Academy and achieved a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. He maintains several industry–leading technical and business certifications, including the CISSP, CISM, and Series 99.
